Frequently Asked Questions

What are some of the best snorkeling spots in Bora Bora

One of the best snorkeling spots in Bora Bora is the Inner Reef. It is enclosed by the lagoon’s fortifying ring. Along with stingrays and black-tip reef sharks, this area’s ocean floor is sandy. There are a few, but not many, coral formations.

Due to its warmer climate and greater exposure, this location has fewer reef fish to offer. In order to get to the deep outer reef, sharks and other marine creatures swim across this region. Other popular snorkeling spots around Bora Bora are White Valley, Leopard Rays Trench, and Tupitipiti Point.

Will the reef sharks come close to me?

The Inner Reef offers excellent visibility of 50 feet. Reef sharks are accustomed to seeing humans. They won’t be scared of you snorkeling here, in other words. When you take a tour, some guides will bring tiny fish to entice the sharks and rays to approach you.

These reef sharks frequently gather in a circle around you as they wait for you to toss them food.

Can I see rays when snorkeling at the inner reef?

Also quite habituated to snorkelers are the sting rays. They’ll approach you closely. These aquatic creatures are well-known to the tour guides, who also know which rays you might be able to touch.

It’s crucial to listen to and follow the guide’s instructions. Although the sharks and rays don’t intend to hurt you, if they feel threatened, they can defend themselves.

Full Day Lagoon Group Tour in Bora Bora with Lunch

Excellent experience, and I’d suggest it to anyone visiting Bora Bora. It was the ideal day to explore Bora Bora from the water with a small group of people on this lagoon excursion. We adored swimming with manta rays in addition to sting rays, black-tip sharks, and all the exotic fish!

I spotted a group of rays while snorkeling in the coral garden and swimming with sharks and rays. Our guide was able to take a great video of four manta rays by swimming down 20 to 30 feet with our friend’s GoPro.

This tour was a wonderful deal for Bora Bora if you only had time or money for one organized trip, in my opinion. Do not wait to reserve this excursion if you are traveling with a large party!
